I needed service to fix an over-crank fault problem on an out of warranty non-Generac generator that didn't have local dealer. I had a Generac installed by an Electrician several months ago. The Electrician and his team are great at providing for my electrical needs but are not Generac authorized dealers/installers like Charlottesville Generators team, so I have run into some significant issues.

Definitely call Eric at Charlottesville Generators to install and/or service your generator! Do NOT get your electrician (even if they swear up and down they CAN install a generator...like ours did)! We bought our generator over a year ago and Eric JUST got it working after nearly a year of dealing with our electrician! Our electrician installed improper wires and didn't connect the proper wires...which eventually caused out starter to burn out...then we had to get a new starter...during the whole process, the electrician didn't disconnect the battery so when it ran its test, it drained the battery...so we had to get it charged...and THEN we had to buy ANOTHER battery (they aren't cheap). I think you get the picture!!! it has been a nightmare! Thank goodness Eric & his crew have a very thorough knowledge of the entire process and they were able to troubleshoot. They were very quick and got everything resolved. VERY grateful and we highly recommend!

Called with an issue on a 13 year old system and they called back within 1 hour and at the home next morning. Old engine had a thrown rod and they had many options to fix the solution. We just had them install a new one within 2 days. Who could ask for BETTER OR FASTER SERVICE. If you get your service or generator anywhere else you'll be sorry

I purchased a generac generator in 2020 which included the mobile link services from the original owner. In Jan. 2023 I was not receiving the mobile link notices anymore indicating that my generator was exercising. I contacted the company and explained that my mobile link was not notifying me, therefore, I thought the generator was not working. I requested a service call only to find out that my generator was working perfectly, however, I no longer had Mobile Link. The point of this review is to notify everyone that you are required to pay an annual fee for the contractor and yourself to continue receiving Mobile Link notices. I was never told this when I purchased the generator. The new owner personally called me and waved the service fee and fully explained that mobile link required you to annually renew in order to continue receiving the mobile link services. It is rare today to have an owner who truly cares about his customers and works with you to rectify problems let alone wave the cost for a service call. The owner was professional and very understanding of a problem that was not of his doing. He was more than willing to listen and make things right. There are many, many, companies out there but very few that provide the customer support that Charlottesville Generators provided !! I highly recommend them for their product and wonderful customer support.

I called Charlottesville Generator at 4 PM on Friday of a holiday weekend. The phone was immediately answered by a real person. They promised me immediate service. The truck arrived within 25 minutes. The technician was extremely knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and deeply committed to excellent service. as he made the repair, he discovered that an additional part was necessary. He did not have that part on his truck, so he called another truck from the company and ask them to bring him the part. The second truck arrived within 15 minutes. It was now 16° outside. Generator operation was restored. The technician did an additional check of our system and determined that full voltage capacity was not being delivered to the house. He determined that there was an additional piece of equipment that was not working properly so, even though heat was restored, and electricity was restored to part of the house, it was not getting to all of the house. he determined which additional part was necessary, but did not have it on his truck. He then drove back to his office (at 8 PM on a Friday night) and called me to let me know that he found the part he promised to return at 8 AM the following morning \u2013 \u2013 Christmas Eve. true to his word, he arrived Saturday morning at 8 AM. It was 6° outside. He completed the repair and full power was restored throughout the house. I have never ever received excellent service of this high-level. Charlottesville generator is truly one of a kind, and the very best in the business.

Cville Generators came to the rescue in a time of crisis. Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend, I phoned and a person answered immediately. I told them the problem (power outage and generator didn\u2019t start), they quickly understood , they immediately dispatched a truck and. Technician arrived in 25 minutes. Technician quickly diagnosed the multiple problems and began the repair. Turned out that control panel was fried. Hee did not have that part on his truck. He called another truck that drove to the office to retrieve the part, and quickly delivered to my home. Repair was completed and the generator started. It was pitch dark, freezing cold, and holiday Friday night, yet the technician continued to do comprehensive double-check to confirm was working. I have never experienced service of this very high caliber, done with good humor and kindness, thoughtfulness and a deep, deep commitment to service and excellence. I cannot say enough about the superior quality to service. Cville will be our electrician of choice forever.

We were exceptionally pleased with the service we received from Charlottesville Generator today! Our power went out this morning and to my surprise they responded to us immediately! With the wind chill, it was about 0 degrees outside with a fierce wind blowing, but they got our generator working. We have a lot of animals so it was critical to get heat today. I Left a message for someone to call me back for service. I received a call back the same day.! My generator was not turning over, the Tech was at my home the next morning! Completed a full service check at my request but also found settings that weren't set properly, battery not hooked up properly, bugs behind the main electrical panel. The Tech was very thorough and explain details about my generator as he worked. I seen and heard the integrity of this company as they worked. Not to mention great pricing. I purchased a house with a Generac 22KW generator (my first ever whole house generator). Three days after moving in we lost power during a storm but the generator was turned off by the seller.

Charlottesville Generator helped walk me through a storm-driven emergency that knocked out power. But since then, they have shown patience and expertise that represent the industry at its best. Eric and his son, Jeremiah, had the expertise needed to replace my generator's engine. But they also had to deal with issues stemming at Generac's end, involving a faulty part and a clerical error. They stayed with the job, bird-dogged the problem and patiently solved it. They are as genial and outgoing as you can expect. My generator is up and running now, thanks to them. Talk to them and you'll see that they feel a sense of ethical obligation to their customers that one rarely finds these days. I wouldn't think about calling anyone else, honestly.

Our power went out on Saturday afternoon and the generator did not come on. I called the company and the service person called back within minutes and came immediately. He quickly identified the problem and explained what had gone wrong, (the gas pressure in was too high so the gas line regulator needed adjusting). The issue was quickly fixed and the generator started up. The service man was friendly and professional 5 star service!

The propane company was called and came right out. Sure enough there was a leak. We were never in danger apparently but thanks to Eric the leak was discovered and is fixed. I recently purchased a home in Earlysville and called Charlottesville Generators to make sure everything was working properly. The owner came out within a couple of hours of me calling to inspect the generator to make sure it was in working order. I started a service plan with the company as they had very competitive rates and the service technician came out within a couple of days to service the generator. In the middle of the night, our generator \u201cdied\u201d during a wide spread power outage.Early the next morning we called Charlottesville Generators (even though we were unknown to them) and Dave arrived within an hour. He needed a part for repair and it was located on another repair person\u2019s truck. The repair person, Eric, arrived within 30 minutes with the part. Initially, even with the new part, the generator would not turn on. Very quickly Eric discovered it was a more complicated problem. He assured me that he would find and fix the problem before leaving. He was not going to leave us without generator power. It was extremely hot that day and we were about to lose all the food in the refrigerator and my sanity. When we lose power, we also lose our well water. Anyone dependent on well water knows how distressing it is to lose power.

I've been working with Dave's company for about 6 years from the installation to regular and special service, and he and his team have always done timely, professional, and reasonably priced work. This is the first time I needed a repair, and it was a bad circuit board that might have been damaged in a recent thunderstorm, and a discharged/worn out battery. Their serviceman, Eric, timely returned my service call and was out within 24 hours--a recent storm hit a lot of people. Did great job! Highly recommend the company and the people.

These guys are terrific. A week after we bought the house, we had a very close lightning strike which took out a number of things including the generator. I had my Generac whole house generator installed 5 years ago and have had outstanding reliability. It has flawlessly run during each power outage without any effort on my part. Smart Homes of Virginia competently figured my electrical needs utilizing transfer switches to provide the most economical performance. My system provides backup power to run two 2.5 ton electric heatpumps plus typical household electrical needs. I am on the annual maintenance plan and have always received exceptional and courteous service. These guys are great!

My Generac has been installed since December 2011. The installer did not offer a service contract. I found a dealer who did offer a contract. He serviced my generator twice a year for about 6 years. After my last renewal (and paid) he went out of business along with my prepayment. I contracted another dealer. His plan included 4 visits per year. They did make 4 visits but did absolutely no work. They were at my home less than 10 minutes each visit. I was not home for the first two visits so I had no idea what service they were providing. As it turned out I didn\u2019t miss anything.
