Worst customer service ever

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had dealing with a service vendor. Never returned my calls, mis-billed me repeatedly until I had to complain to the BBB. Sent invoices for services never rendered and refused to return calls or emails clarifying the situation. I will never work with them or recommend to anyone.

Just wanted service for my generator

All we wanted was to arrange service for our generator. Was told it would be a month wait over 2 months ago. I keep calling and asking to set a date but they are unable or unwilling to book one.

Bought generac in 2017 . The first time the electric went out for over 6 hours the gasket leaked oil . Had same problem repaired a few times . I paid for extended warrant . Electric went out again and gasket leaked again. Asked Kimberley to have John call me -NEVER HAPPENED. Requested a call a few times and he doesn\u2019t callback . Made appointment for today was told I\u2019d be first repair of the day . No one came . Spoke to Kimberley she said appt. is Friday??? Not so ! Said John is busy can\u2019t come to the phone yet again for the 10th time. Now they are supposed to come Friday . First appointment Friday per Kimberley....we will see. Even though I have extended warranty I was told that they need to keep my credit card on file . What a way to do business . TERRIBLE !!!

Totally dropped the ball!!

I called to get an estimate and they took down my info and never got back to me. I called them to follow-up and they finally sent someone to do an estimate. Since then, they never sent me the estimate and I even called to follow-up. When I called they said they would send that evening and again, nothing! It's unbelievable to me that here I am trying to buy an $8-10K generator and I have to chase THEM down? They should be all over ME about it. I would NEVER use this company. What a joke!

My generator did not work. I tried several dealers, but they would not come out until the end of December. This dealer came within a few days, repaired my generator and charged a reasonable fee. I would recommend this dealer without reservation. I now have a service contract with them.

Get charged for unnecessary service call and overlook the problem they are called for in the first place. Any excuse to blame the customer. Will not honor the warrantee.

If you need to get a generator for your home, Gentech is by far the best place to get that project completed. Both sales and service were top notch. The delivery and follow up with the electric contractor (great electric company by the way) and LP hookup went seamlessly. Once all steps were completed, the startup and activation of the generator along with the warranty registration went off without a hitch. The folks at Gentech are extremely knowledgeable about ALL phases of the project and their prices can't be beat. I know I will continue to rely on their expert service throughout the life of my generator. re: Generac 22kw LP whole home standby.

Had an excellent experience working with Gentech. From start to finish everyone who we dealt with was friendly, helpful, and cheerful. It was great to work with contractors and sales reps who appreciate your business and are there to provide you with a great product. There was no pressure to up-sell us on any additional items we did not want and were very patient and thorough about questions we had. When the generator was first dropped off I wasn't very happy with the specific placement, all it took was one phone call and they came back and adjusted it without any hassle. All the contractors did nice clean work, and were on time as needed. It's a very expensive investment, but we certainly look forward to the piece of mind it will bring us and I am confident that if we ever have any problems I can reach out to Gentech for help.

Stay away, company uses bait and switch on it's customers

I called this company when I had a problem with my generator. They came when they said they would and the repairman seemed very good. While the repair was going on I was put in contact with a person who claimed to be the sales manager. He did the old bait and switch. He gave me a price quote on a contract in lieu of the repair cost. I agreed on the contract price in lieu of the repair cost. A month later I got a bill for $367 more then the price quoted. I called up and spoke withe secretary and she said have the sales manager call me back. Never got a call back. I waited and then finally sent in the quoted price. Six months go by and still no call or anything from this company. Then I have another problem with my generator and call for service. They say they can't come out because I owe them money. Left my wife and five year old daughter in the dark thanks! I explained what happen and they told me they would have the sales manager call me. When he calls me back he denies that he gave me the quote and that I have to pay and would send me to collection if I didn't.I had to call another repair company who claimed the problem was caused by tampering or poor service.I called the gentech again to speak to the owner and again no one called me back. Even though I made several attempts to work this out with no return phone calls they sent me to collection.Stay away, far far away! Not good at repairs and very poor customer service!

Good installation, but check out there service contract.

Only one problem. Service contract is much to high they charge $ 285. for the first oil change includes filter. I have a problem with that.

I bought my generator from them last year because we have had outages for years. They were fantastic in the most recent storm (hurricane Sandy). They are always available to answer questions and are dependable for service when you most need them (during a long outage). I highly recommend Gentech Ltd. for your generator service and purchases.

From start to finish the folks at Gentech were wonderful. They patiently answered my many questions, helped determine the correct product for our needs, delivered promptly (to our house in the middle of nowhere), cheerfully set it up and explained the generator in detail to us. We continue to feel supported by this company which is not so common these days. Thank you Gentech. We highly recommend this dealer.

Along with everyone else in the northeast, I was stuck without power in October. I went onto the Generac website and found Gentech. I contacted Gentech and told them what i wanted. The woman that helped me in the office was very pleasant. I explained to them my situation and they responded with excellent advice. Before i knew it i had Gentech's delivery guys setting my generator in the backyard. They were very professional and polite. Soon after that they sent me one of there technicians to start up my generator. He too was very polite and extremely knowledgeable. He was able to explain things to me in ways so i would understand. Anyway, we recently lost power and i was very happy that i called gentech because i had power. Thanks Gentech!!!!

gentech no good

I scheduled an appointment after waiting half the day I called them and they said they were running late and that someone would be there by 4:30 PM. No one showed and no one called and weeks have passed I called someone else. I would never recommend this company and they should be removed from selling generac generators they are giving generac a bad name. I spoke to someone else about them and they heard the same thing from someone else.

Although in the craziness of the storms that hit our region, Gentech was very professional and helpful to us....it is great that they are a good local dealer with better service than any online company can provide

Be prepared to not have your phone calls returned in a reasonable time frame and to be left wondering when things will get done. There are many details to this post but the bottom line is unless you are willing to do their job for them you will be left in the dark both literally and figuratively. They are knowlegeable about their products but leave a lot to be desired in the customer service department.

Gentech TECHNICIANS are very professional, capable and knowledgable. I highly recommend Gentech for their bi-annual maint. service agreement. However, I was repeatedly disappointed w/ the ADMIN/BACK OFFICE's LACK OF RESPONSIVENESS (several calls over several weeks) for a return phone call?! The lack of basic professional courtesies from the back-office was alarming.
